In this week's episode of the SI Tennis Beyond the Baseline Podcast, Sports Illustrated executive editor and host Jon Wertheim talks with 18-year-old American Taylor Fritz. 

After cracking the ATP top 100 on Monday at No. 81 following a run to the final at the Memphis Open last month, Fritz checks in with Wertheim in between training in Carson, Calif., ahead of Indian Wells. With his run in Memphis—just his third ATP Tour event—Fritz became the youngest American to reach a title match since Michael Chang in 1989 and talks about his transition from the juniors to the pro level. Fritz also discusses his nutrition, how technology affects his game, how he prepares and scouts opponents at the pro level and more. Fritz 

The pair also talks about comparisons to other successful Americans, his relationship with other young American players and his decision to forgo a college career to pursue professional tennis.
