Serena Williams to miss Madrid Open because of illness

MADRID (AP) Serena Williams will miss the Madrid Open because of illness.

The tournament says Williams won't be able to play at the tournament that starts this weekend because of a fever that has left her feeling ''less than 100 percent.''

Williams won the Madrid Open in 2012 and 2013.

Agnieszka Radwanska will take William's place as the top-seeded player.
