The draw for Wimbledon 2016 will take place on Friday, three days before play starts in the third grand slam tournament.
The seeds for the tournament have already been announced, with Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray earning the top two seeds on the men’s side, and Serena Williams taking the top seed on the women’s side.
Defending champion Djokovic drew Britain’s James Ward to open the tournament, while Williams will open against a qualifier.
Williams will have to fend off No. 2 Garbine Muguruza and No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska as she looks to repeat as Wimbledon champion.
John Isner (No. 18), Jack Sock (No. 27) and Sam Querrey (No. 28) are the three seeded American men in the field. Venus Williams and Madison Keys are seed ninth and 10th, respectively, while Sloane Stephens (No. 19) and Coco Vandeweghe (No. 28) round out the Americans in the women’s field.
Roger Federer is seeded No. 3 on the men’s side, while Stan Wawrinka is No. 4.
