Daily Data Viz: Serena Williams's return stats through four rounds

Through four rounds at Wimbledon this year, Serena Williams has shown her great return abilities.

Serena Williams is known as the best server in women’s tennis, but sometimes her return of serve abilities get overlooked. At Wimbledon this year she has shown the competition once again just how good she can be. Her aggression on return sets her apart—she’s hit 23 return winners in four matches here—the next best among the last eight players is Yaroslava Shvedova with 13. Her ability to generate power on return helps her dominate when her opponents have to hit a second serve. So you have to defend against the best serve in the game and you better get your first serves in against Serena Williams if you expect to have a chance of pulling an upset.
