BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) Fourth-seeded Laura Siegemund advanced to the semifinals of the Bucharest Open by beating Polona Hercog 6-2, 6-1 Friday.

The German landed 77 percent of her first serves and won 67 percent of the points.

Also, Vania King of the United States beat French player Pauline Parmentier 6-3, 6-1. King saved all 12 break points she faced.
