4th-seeded Lorenzi beats Struff to reach semis in Kitzbuehel

KITZBUEHEL, Austria (AP) Fourth-seeded Paolo Lorenzi missed two match points in the second set before beating Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany 6-2, 6-7 (5), 7-5 in the quarterfinals of the Generali Open on Thursday.

The 48th-ranked Italian failed to serve out the match at 5-4 in the second set, and missed two more match points on Struff's serve in the final set before converting his fifth chance.

In his third career semifinal, Lorenzi will play either Jurgen or Gerald Melzer of Austria.

In the other semifinal, the sixth-seeded Dusan Lajovic of Serbia will take on Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia.

Lajovic defeated Karen Khachanov of Russia 6-3, 6-2, and Basilashvili reached his maiden semifinal after coming from behind to beat Adam Pavlasek of the Czech Republic 5-7, 7-6 (2), 6-3.
