NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) American Shelby Rogers has lost to Johanna Larsson of Sweden 7-6 (1), 6-4 at the Connecticut Open.

The 23-year-old Rogers managed one point in the first-set tiebreaker. She trailed 5-2 in the second set before winning two straight games. Larsson, ranked No. 62, needed four match points while serving at 5-4 to win.

Larsson, a lucky loser, will face the winner of the match between No. 8 Roberta Vinci of Italy and Ana Konjuh of Croatia.

The 55th-ranked Rogers had more success at the French Open, where she beat Petra Kvitova en route to the quarterfinals. She lost to eventual champion Garbine Muguruza.
