NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) Ukraine's Elina Svitolina beat Sweden's Johanna Larsson 6-4, 6-2 Friday to move into the final of the Connecticut Open, the last women's tuneup before the U.S. Open.

The match began with three consecutive service breaks before the 21-year-old Svitolina found her touch and took control.

The 10th seed broke Larsson at love in the fifth game of the second set and cruised from there.

Svitolina, who beat Serena Williams in the Olympics, is 4-0 in WTA finals, but this will be her first in a Premier event.

She plays the winner of Friday night's match between top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska and two-time defending champion Petra Kvitova.

Larsson lost in qualifying, but got into the main draw as a lucky loser, becoming the third in tournament history to advance as far as the semifinals. None has made it to a final.
