On this week's episode of the SI Tennis Beyond the Baseline Podcast, Sports Illustrated executive editor and host Jon Wertheim talks with SI.com tennis producer Jamie Lisanti.

Wertheim and Lisanti report from the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York on the first days of action at the 2016 U.S. Open. After No. 3-seed Garbine Muguruza was eliminated from the tournament, Wertheim and Lisanti discuss the remaining players in the draw. What are American Madison Keys chances with Muguruza out? The pair also talks about Muguruza's upset, Serena Williams' first matches at the U.S. Open after her shocking defeat to Italy's Robert Vinci last year and Caroline Wozniacki, who scored a solid win over Svetlana Kuznetsova to advance to the third round. On the men's side, they also talk about Novak Djokovic's injury and walkover into the third round, Bernard Tomic's comments, Nick Kyrgios, Rafael Nadal, the Arthur Ashe Stadium roof and noise and much more.

• MORE BEYOND THE BASELINE: Gigi Fernandez | Venus Williams

Also on the podcast, Wertheim and Lisanti discuss the remaining American men, including Ryan Harrison, who upset No. 5-seed Milos Raonic, and their chances of advancing past the middle weekend.
