Serena Williams Weds Reddit Co-Founder Alexis Ohanian

The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion got married on Thursday.

Serena Williams married fiancee Alexis Ohanian on Thursday, just 11 weeks after giving birth to their daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr,

PEOPLE reported the news on Thursday.

The couple chose New Orleans as their wedding destination, with America's biggest celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Eva Longoria and Caroline Wozniacki in attendance, People reports. About 250 people attended the ceremony including the couple's daughter.

According to DailyMail, Williams and Ohanian chose a 'Beauty and the Beast' theme for the ceremony and the group of A-list celebrities enjoyed many musical acts closed to the public. Each guest table at the event was named after one of Williams' grand slam titles and her favors were recreations of the trophies she received for each corresponding title.

The event was said to cost more than $1 million. "Serena and Alexis have spared no expense on their dream wedding," an insider told DailyMail.

Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, said last month she would return to the tennis courts in January to defend her title at the Australian Open.

"I used to think I'd want to retire when I have kids, but no." Williams said. "I'm definitely coming back. If anything, this pregnancy has given me a new power."

Williams, now 36, was several weeks pregnant when she won the 2017 Australian Open title.
