No. 2 seed Rafael Nadal will face 21-year-old American Frances Tiafoe on Tuesday, Jan. 22 in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.

Tiafoe will be making his first career Grand Slam quarterfinal appearance. The American upset No. 20 seed Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round 7-5, 7-6, 6-7, 7-5 to advance. Tiafoe is the last American man remaining in the draw.

Opposing him will be 17-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, who defeated Tomas Berdych 6-0, 6-1, 7-6 to make his eleventh quarterfinal at the Australian Open. Nadal will be looking to defend his semifinal appearance at last year's Australian Open.

Nadal has never played Tiafoe before, but the 17-time champion is heavily favored to advance to the semifinals.
