U.S. defeats Australia to advance to final vs. Spain

The U.S. women's national basketball team defeated Australia on Saturday in the semifinals of the 2014 FIBA World Cup to advance to the final on Sunday vs. Spain.

The U.S. women's national basketball team defeated Australia on Saturday in the semifinals of the 2014 FIBA World Cup to advance to the final on Sunday vs. Spain. 

The U.S. won 82-70 behind 18 points from Tina Charles and 16 points from Maya Moore.

Spain defeated the host country, Turkey, to advance for the first time to the finals. In 2010, Spain won bronze after losing to the U.S. in the semifinals. Australia faces Turkey for the third place game. 

The U.S. won by an average of 48 points through its first four games.
