LA Sparks sign Australian center Marianna Tolo
LOS ANGELES (AP) The Los Angeles Sparks have signed Australian center Marianna Tolo, bringing the international veteran to the WNBA.
Tolo is averaging 10.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 17 games with the French league team Tango Borges Basket, where she has played the last three seasons.
She played with the WNBL Canberra Capitals from 2008-12, helping the Australian team win two league titles. Tolo was a member of the Australian national team last year, helping them to a bronze medal at the world championships.
New Sparks coach Brian Agler says Tolo is a versatile post player who will help the team immediately.
The deal was announced Monday.
