Taurasi-less Mercury re-sign Bonner

PHOENIX (AP) The Phoenix Mercury have re-signed forward DeWanna Bonner.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bonner has spent her entire six-year career with the Mercury, earning the WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year award three times.

She has won two WNBA championships with Phoenix, including last season when she was 10th in the league with 1.5 steals per game.

Bonner has averaged 13.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in 200 career games. She is second in franchise history with 1,197 rebounds, third with 221 steals and 2,634 points.

The Mercury will attempt to defend their title this season without former league MVP Diana Taurasi, who will skip the WNBA season to rest for her Russian team.
