Maya Moore will sign contract with Lynx soon

LAS VEGAS (AP) Fear not Minnesota Lynx fans, Maya Moore isn't going anywhere.

The restricted free agent hasn't signed her contract yet, but said that it's only a matter of time before she does.

''It literally has just been not getting the paper signed,'' Moore said after participating at the USA Basketball training camp Tuesday. ''I haven't been around a printer. There's nothing to be worried about. I'm coming back.''

Moore said she will be in Minnesota at the end of next week and will take care of it then.

''I have zero concern,'' Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said. ''Especially if she said it. I would believe her more than me.''

Moore, who was the league's MVP last season, won a third straight championship playing in China this past winter. She'll try and win a third title in five years with the Lynx this summer.

''It definitely left us hungry after losing to Phoenix last year,'' Moore said. ''I'm excited to get things started next week with training camp opening.''

The 25-year-old star has had a little time to relax after returning from China. She took in her alma mater UConn's third straight national championship last month in Tampa before heading to New York for the first-ever Jordan Classic girls high school All-America game.

''It was a really special week,'' said Moore of her time with the high school girls. ''They visited the Sept. 11 memorial and I got to spend some one on one time with them in a women's forum. The game turned out to be really, really good with the ending.''

The East team rallied to beat the West by one point on two 3-pointers in the final 30 seconds.

Moore was just happy that the girls had an opportunity to play.

''It's absolutely time,'' she said. ''We've been fighting for a lot of things since I've been a professional, over the past two years especially. We've been talking about this more seriously. I'm glad we made it happen and it's here to stay.''
