Liberty's Brittany Boyd fractures wrist, out 5-to-6 weeks

NEW YORK (AP) Liberty guard Brittany Boyd will be sidelined for at least a month after fracturing her left wrist in Thursday's loss to Chicago.

The rookie guard hurt her wrist while driving to the basket and landing hard on it. She's averaging 6.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists this season for New York (21-9). Boyd had surgery Friday on the wrist and could potentially be back for the WNBA Finals if the Liberty make it that far.

New York has four games left in the regular season and is two wins away from clinching the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Boyd, who starred at Cal, had a career-high 22 points against Tulsa on Aug. 15.
