MINNEAPOLIS (AP) The Minnesota Lynx have signed Czech guard Katerina Elhotova to add some depth to their backcourt.

The Lynx announced the signing on Thursday. The 5-foot-11 Elhotova is from Praha in the Czech Republic. She has spent 10 years playing for USK Praha. Five of those were with Lynx guard Lindsay Whalen, who spent her WNBA offseason playing for Praha from 2007-12.

The 26-year-old Elhotova is averaging 13.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 10 games this season. She is shooting 45.5 percent from 3-point range and could provide a needed threat from the perimeter.

The Lynx are looking for depth in the backcourt to try to ease the burden for Whalen and Seimone Augustus, both of whom are expected to play in the Olympics in Rio this summer.
