Seattle Storm rookie Breanna Stewart scored 23 points in her WNBA debut on Sunday, a 96–66 loss on the road to the Los Angeles Sparks.

Stewart, the No. 1 pick in this year’s WNBA draft out of UConn added six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 33 minutes on the floor. It was the first loss she had experienced since arriving on campus to play for the Huskies, winning 75 consecutive games and four national championships at school.

Sparks center Candace Parker led all scorers with 34, while guard Kristi Toliver chipped in 14.

The Storm will look for their first win of the year on Friday against the Minnesota Lynx.
