Charles, Rogers help Liberty beat Fever 78-75 in overtime

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Tina Charles had 26 points, 15 rebounds and six assists to help the New York Liberty beat the Indiana Fever 78-75 in overtime on Sunday.

Sugar Rodgers scored 14 points, Tanisha Wright added 13 and Kiah Stokes grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds for the Liberty (8-4), who have won four in a row.

Stokes made a layup with 2:48 left in overtime to spark an 8-2 spurt that gave New York a 78-73 lead with eight seconds left.

The Liberty, ranked fourth in the AP WNBA power poll, limited Indiana to four points in the third - tying the Fever's franchise record for fewest points in a quarter - and led 55-46 early in the fourth.

Indiana (5-8) used a 16-4 run - capped by Briann January's two free throws after New York's Shavonte Zellous picked up a pair of technical fouls - to lead by five with 2:21 left in regulation.

Trailing 66-62, Rogers hit a leaning 3 with 22.1 seconds left and then, after January made 1 of 2 free throws on the other end, Rogers hit two foul shots to force overtime.

Tamika Catchings missed a potential winning runner in the lane as regulation expired.

Catchings scored 23 points and Erlana Larkins had 10 points, a season-high 15 rebounds and three blocks for the eighth-ranked Fever.
