Delle Donne scores 24 points, Sky tops Wings 84-77

ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) Elena Delle Donne had 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting and Allie Quigley hit a late 3-pointer to help the Chicago Sky beat the Dallas Wings 84-77 on Friday night.

There was a moment of silence before the tipoff for the five Dallas police officers killed by a gunman July 7. The Wings wore shirts with the team logo and hashtag (hash)DALLASSTRONG to show solidarity.

Jamierra Faulkner added 13 points and six assists, and Quigley finished with 10 points for Chicago (9-12). Courtney Vandersloot had five of her eight points and three of her five assists in the fourth quarter.

The Sky had a 70-57 lead with 6 minute left, but Odyssey Sims hit three 3-pointers and Plenette Pierson made two more to pull Dallas (9-13) within six with 1:12 to play. Chicago forced a shot-clock violation with 34.9 seconds to go, and Cappie Pondexter found Quigley for a 3 from the right wing 21 seconds later to seal it.

Plenette Pierson hit a career-high five 3-pointers and finished with 20 points for the Wings. Sims added 14 points and six assists.

Chicago shot 57.9 percent (11 of 19) from the field in the fourth quarter.
