Caitlin Clark’s New Teammates Celebrate Her Arrival With Thousands of Fired-Up Indiana Fever Fans

The Indiana Fever selected Caitlin Clark with the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft on Monday night, and arguably no one was happier than Clark’s new teammates.

The 22-year-old Clark was projected to be the top pick ever since she declared for the draft back in February, but her fate was officially sealed when the Fever sent their pick in on Monday—with very little hesitation, one might add.

Thousands of miles from New York, where the draft was currently being held, cameras caught members of the Fever team cheering for Clark’s selection in a fan-filled WNBA draft party at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana.

Here are the scenes of pure pandemonium:

Clark, a native of West Des Moines, Iowa, ended her Hawkeyes career on back-to-back NCAA tournament final appearances. The NCAA all-time leading scorer averaged 28.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game in her senior season.

Clark will pair up with 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston on the Fever in the upcoming season. Indiana finished 6th in the WNBA Eastern Conference with a 13-27 record last year.
