Serena Williams stands by coach after bizarre scene at Wimbledon

Wednesday July 16th, 2014

Despite an odd scene that led Serena Williams to retire from a doubles match at Wimbledon, she is sticking with her coach Patrick Mouratoglou, according to an interview Mouratoglou gave to France's Tennis Magazine.

After Williams lost to No. 25 Alize Cornet in the third round of singles at Wimbledon, Mouratoglou told reporters that he had not seen Williams in two days. However, according to Clarey, the two have talked and are back at work.

Williams had previously withdrawn from the Madrid Open with a leg injury.
