Fordham guard Jon Severe returned to practice on Friday after a month-long absence, according to Bleacher Report.

Fordham announced on Nov. 29 that Severe would be taking a leave of absence for personal reasons. Severe, a sophomore, has missed the Rams' last seven games. The team went 4-3 in that span and is 5-6 overall. Severe will be available for Fordham's Atlantic 10 Conference opener vs. VCU on Sunday.

"Having Jon Severe back with us at 100 percent will obviously raise our talent level and make us a better basketball team," Fordham head coach Tom Pecora said. "The key to the process is Jon feeling comfortable enough to come back and compete on a daily basis."

Severe was suspended for one week on Nov. 8 for a violation of team rules. He missed one game before returning.

In three games this season, Severe averaged 13 minutes of playing time and scored five points with seven rebounds.

Last season, Severe ranked second on the Rams in scoring with 17.3 points per game. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native was a heralded recruit in 2013, choosing Fordham over scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and West Virginia.
