Former five-star recruit Marcus Lee has committed to play for California, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

Lee removed his name from NBA draft consideration earlier this year. After removing his name, Lee announced he would be transferring from Kentucky, where he played from 2013–16. Lee will have to sit out the upcoming season and will become eligible to play for the Bears in 2017.

When Lee announced his intention to transfer, Kentucky coach John Calipari said the forward would be moving west to be closer to his family.

Lee was the No. 17 ranked recruit for the Class of 2013. Last season, he averaged 6.4 points per game on 68% shooting and 6.0 rebounds per game.
