South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said four-star cornerbacks Chris Lammons and Wesley Green -- both members of South Carolina's 2014 recruiting class -- have been ruled academically eligible, according to The State.

There was concern that both players wouldn't be admitted to the school, but the pair received approval from the university this week.

Lammons and Green are both expected to play as freshmen, as the Gamecocks lost their top three cornerbacks from last season.

"We think they are both good athletes, and we think they can catch up quickly,” Spurrier said. “We’ll have enough time to hopefully get them ready to play.”

Lammons, a native of Plantation, Fla., was ranked the No. 40 player in the state by Rivals.com. Green, from Lithonia, Ga., was rated the No. 208 player in the country by Rivals.

South Carolina went 11-2 last season. The team was recently picked to win the SEC East in the preseason media poll.
