Junior Travis Wilson has been named Utah’s starting quarterback, according to a depth chart released by the school Monday.
Wilson beat out Oklahoma transfer Kendal Thompson for the job. In nine games last season, Wilson passed for 1,827 yards and 16 touchdowns against 16 interceptions, adding 386 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

Wilson suffered a concussion in a Nov. 9 loss to Arizona State that caused him to miss the rest of 2013.
Utah, who went 5-7 (1-7 Pac 12) last season, opens its 2014 campaign Aug. 28 against Idaho State.
