The first half of Wednesday night's Orange Bowl ended in dramatic fashion.

With time for one more play, Mississippi State went for the 42-yard Hail Mary and connected, with Fred Ross catching Dak Prescott's pass off a deflection in the endzone.

The successful completion was so unexpected that halftime show organizers who had begun to set up had to hurriedly run the stage off the field so the Bulldogs could kick their extra point.

The touchdown cut Georgia Tech's halftime lead to 21-20.
