The 2017 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game will feature Tennessee and Georgia Tech, the game announced Monday.

The game will take place on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, and will be played at the Atlanta Falcons' new stadium. The Falcons will relocate earlier that year from the Georgia Dome, where the kickoff game has traditionally been held.

The Vols will make their second appearance in the Kickoff Game, while the Yellow Jackets will be making their debut.

“This will be the renewing of a long and beloved rivalry that’s been off the board for far too long,” Percy Vaughn, Peach Bowl, Inc. chairman, said in a statement. “And it’s a great addition to the long-standing ACC vs. SEC rivalry games we have been able to put together.”

All but three of the 17 scheduled Kickoff Games have featured an ACC team. Every game has featured either an SEC or ACC school.

The season-opening event was created in 2008, pitting Alabama and Clemson against each other as the inaugural participants.

Louisville and Auburn will compete in the 2015 edition of the game, and Georgia and North Carolina will face off in 2016.
