Former Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Patrick Towles will transfer to Boston College, he announced in a Youtube video.

Towles completed his degree and graduated on Friday. He will join the Eagles in the fall as a graduate transfer.

“I felt like I gave all that I had to this place,” Towles said in the video. “Although I wanted it to end a different way, at the end of the day you’ve got to be a little selfish and make a decision for yourself and for your future. I think if I still want to play in the NFL that was the best decision for me.”

Towles started in nine games for Kentucky this season, but lost his starting job after the Wildcats’ 21–17 loss to Vanderbilt on Nov. 14. Redshirt freshman Drew Barker took over for Towles. He finished his career at Kentucky with 24 touchdowns, 24 interceptions and 11 rushing touchdowns.
