Speaking with Gridiron Now, Black said that he would like to go to a school “that knows how to utilize a slot guy.”
“I always felt like the system didn’t fit my type of skill set,” Black said. “I feel like I’ve been caged for these past three years. Now, I’m ready to break out.”
Black was a four-star recruit in 2012, ranked just outside of the nation’s top 100 according to Scout.com. He made 23 combined catches in his first two seasons for 267 yards and two touchdowns before missing most of 2015 due to injury.
In November, coach Nick Saban said that Black did all he could to get back to the field but couldn’t quite get to full strength. The wideout said that wasn’t the issue.
“They never really gave me a chance to make it back into it,” he said.
Black has been linked to Arizona State and Missouri.
