Alabama has dismissed five-star offensive tackle Charles Baldwin for an undisclosed violation of team rules, the team announced on Thursday.
Scout.com ranked Baldwin as the No. 3 junior college prospect. Baldwin committed to Alabama last June, becoming the Crimson Tide’s first signee of the 2016 recruiting class, and enrolled in January after playing last year at ASA junior college in Brooklyn, NY.
He was expected to compete for the starting right tackle position, but Jonah Williams started over him in Alabama’s spring game.
Alabama will begin its 2016 season against USC on Sept. 3 in Arlington, Texas.
