The NFL is still searching for answers in Deflategate. Thankfully, Neil deGrasse Tyson is here to help.
The famed astrophysicist is pretty much the public's science authority these days, so Monday brought big news when Tyson weighed in on the ongoing under-inflated footballs saga.
For the Patriots to blame a change in temperature for 15% lower-pressures, requires balls to be inflated with 125-degree air.— Neil deGrasse Tyson (@neiltyson) January 26, 2015
Tyson's repudiation of Bill Belichick's claims followed that of sporting goods company Wilson, which manufactures the NFL's official footballs.
Belichick was pretty adamant in his Saturday press conference that he had basically become an expert on football inflation, but it's a bit easier to believe a guy who's made a career out of science.
If the world was a just place, this would end with a televised debate between Belichick and Tyson on the subject, but something tells us that's not going to happen.
