Georgetown women's basketball team to host 'Hail to Kale' night

The Georgetown women's basketball team is offering fans a free serving of Kale as a promotion for the Feb. 13 game against Xavier.

Kale seems to be everywhere these days, so it's not entirely surprising that it'll soon be offered as a sporting event promotion.

The Georgetown women's basketball team is holding "Hail to Kale Night" on Feb. 13 for a game against Xavier, promising the first 100 fans in attendance at McDonough Arena a free serving of Kale.

Any fans whose names include all four "kale" letters will also gain free admission.

As if this wasn't all great enough, gift cards will be up for grabs to "DC's best Kale-serving restaurants."

Kale -- "an underrated superfood," according to a release from the school -- dining options will also be available at concessions stands.

Perhaps buying into the kale hype will do well for the Hoyas -- they're currently second-to-last in the Big East at 2-9 in conference play (4-19 overall).
