David Moyes banned fries to keep Manchester United players in shape
David Moyes' short time as manager of Manchester United was marked by controversy, and Moyes' is admitting that an accusation against him by a former player is true: He banned fries from the team dinners.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand said in his most recent autobiography that Moyes ended a longtime team tradition of indulging in fries the night before a game, and according to The Guardian, Moyes has admitted the ban.
"Yes, I did ban chips. It was because a couple of the players were overweight and I didn't think chips were good for their diet"

Moyes is now the head of La Liga squad Real Sociedad, and he is much more complementary of players diets, saying they focus more on fish and salads in San Sebastian.
Of course, Moyes is not above the occasional mid-game snack himself.
