J.J. Redick sets record for most two-pointers in a three-point contest

J.J. Redick Saturday set the "record" for the most accidental two-point shots made during the NBA Three-Point Contest, according to a bashful J.J. Redick.

Redick really crossed the line, so to speak, during his first round of competition at the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest. After making eight of his first 15 shots, he started stepping on, or even completely over, the three-point line on his attempts.

During Redick's fourth rack of balls, the sideline official waved off two of his shots. He initially finished with a score of 18, but officials took one more off of the board and Redick finished with a revised total of 17.

It wouldn't have mattered though even if he had made all three shots. Golden State's Stephen Curry, who qualified for the third and final final-round spot and eventually won the entire competition, finished with 23.

Redick is shooting 43.9 percent from behind the arc this season, good for ninth-best in the NBA. This was his first three-point competition, though.

And it might be his last.
