Gio Gonzalez says 'meow' ten times in interview on dare from Max Scherzer

Max Scherzer appears to be getting along just fine with his new teammates in Washington.

Wednesday, in an homage to the movie Super Troopers, Scherzer challenged Gio Gonzalez to sneak some "meows" into an in-game interview.

Scherzer sat in front of Gonzalez during the interview and helpfully counted up the meows. Reporter Dan Kolko managed to carry on with the interview as if nothing unusual was happening, but tossed it back up to the booth with a meow of his own.

• Will Ferrell will play all nine positions

• Dock Ellis tried to pitch on LSD a second time

The Nats broadcast crew speculated that Scherzer had agreed to dig into his $120 million contract and pay Gonzalez $100 for every meow. That's not a bad deal.
