Phillies to sell wine, cocktails at Citizens Bank Park concession areas

The Philadelphia Phillies plan to sell hard liquor and wine at general concession areas in Citizens Bank Park this season.

The Philadelphia Phillies plan to sell hard liquor and wine at general concession areas in Citizens Bank Park this season, reports Philly.com.

For the first time, Aramark will sell cocktails and wine at concession areas on the main concourse. An existing beer bar in Section 142 will be expanded to accommodate the hard drinks, but fans won't be able to take cocktails or wine out of the area and to their seats.

Wine and spirits have been served previously at non-Aramark restaurants, such as McFadden's, as well as in premium seating areas and at the sit-down restaurant Harry the K's.

A Phillies-branded wine (not Bobby), a dry red created in partnership with Chaddsford Winery, will be among the offerings. Chaddsford also produces a branded wine for the Flyers.

The decision by the Phillies and Aramark spurred an expected flood of "They'll sure need the booze!" reactions from fans longing for a return to the postseason after three straight non-winning seasons.
