Fans took Nassau Coliseum seats... with game(s) still to be played there

Fans took seats out of Nassau Coliseum following the New York Islanders' Game 3 overtime win against the Washington Capitals on Sunday, even though the stadium will host at least one more Islanders game.

Here's an idea: rather than buy your beloved old stadium's seats at a marked-up price from some collectibles company, why not take them yourself?

New York Islanders fans apparently took that route at Nassau Coliseum following Sunday's overtime win against the Washington Capitals in Game 3 of their opening-round Stanley Cup playoffs series. The Islanders, of course, will be moving to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn next season.

There's just one thing: Game 4 will still be played at the Coliseum on Tuesday, and if you bought a ticket to one of those seats... well, sorry? The Islanders also lead the series 2-1, which means unless they win the next two games, the series will return to the Coliseum for Game 6 on Saturday.

There's also the question of how fans got tools into the stadium to get the seats out—we'll see if we get an answer to that one.
