David Lee bought Warriors employees a goodbye lunch

David Lee said goodbye to Golden State Warriors employees with a kind gesture on Wednesday: a catered lunch from Chipotle.

David Lee said goodbye to Golden State Warriors employees with a kind gesture on Wednesday: a catered lunch from Chipotle.

Warriors social media coordinator Julie Phayer shared the news, and also said Lee previously brought the team’s staff lunch during her first week at work.

The Warriors traded Lee to the Boston Celtics earlier this month in a cost-cutting move that netted Golden State forward Gerald Wallace. The parting was expected, considering Lee’s high salary—he signed a six-year, $80 million contract with the Warriors in 2010 and is set to make $15.6 million next season—and also apparently amicable.

Over his five seasons with the Warriors, Lee averaged 16.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. Clearly a nice tenure for a player who saw first-hand the Warriors improve from 36–46 in 2010–2011 to NBA Finals champions this past season.
