Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman Luke Bowanko learned the hard way what happens when you insult a minor league baseball stadium on the Internet.
Bowanko—an alum of Virginia—began his downfall after he sent off a mostly harmless tweet while watching the ACC baseball tournament late last week.
Yo @ACCBaseball what a stupid idea to hold your tournament in a little league ball park
— Luke Bowanko (@Lbow70) May 27, 2016
As it turns out, the game was not being played at a Little League park. It was being played at the home stadium of the Durham Bulls, the Triple A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Somehow, the Bulls got a hold of Bowanko’s tweet. And the Bulls fired back swiftly:
.@Lbow70 well this 'little league ball park' has seen the postseason more than you guys ever have
— Durham Bulls (@DurhamBulls) May 27, 2016
Bowanko came back with a solid jab about the Bulls’ minor league status:
A couple more favs and you might get called up to run the major league Twitter
— Luke Bowanko (@Lbow70) May 27, 2016
But the Bulls came back with the knockout blow:
.@Lbow70 a couple more wins and you might not be arguing with a Minor League Baseball team on Twitter
— Durham Bulls (@DurhamBulls) May 27, 2016
In his defense, Bowanko is taking his L in stride:
Bet y'all can't put getting murdered by a minor league baseball twitter on your resumes pic.twitter.com/NMXUhpXmF7
