Report: Heat fear Chris Bosh will never be cleared to play

Members of the Miami Heat organization fear Chris Bosh will never be cleared to play again by team doctors, reports ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
For the second straight season, Bosh missed every game after the All-Star break due to a blood clot. Last year, the clot traveled to Bosh’s lung, requiring hospitalization. This year, Bosh was attempting to return—creating friction between him and the team—until he was ultimately shut down during the playoffs.
Both the Heat and Bosh would prefer for him to be able to return, according to the report. However, Bosh’s uncertain medical condition is also affecting the Heat’s ability to plan for the future.
If Bosh is forced into medical retirement, his salary would come off the Heat’s payroll one year after the last game he played in. If Bosh never plays again, the Heat would be relieved of his salary on Feb. 9, 2017.

Bosh currently has three years and roughly $75 million on his contract.
ESPN Radio’s Dan Le Batard reported Monday via a text from a Heat source that the team expects Bosh to play next season.
