Best NBA Prop Bets Today (Predictions for Anthony Edwards, Kon Knueppel, Darius Garland)

Breaking down the best prop bets for the NBA action on Thursday, April 2, including a pick for Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

Thursday’s NBA action features a ton of stars in action, including the top three NBA MVP candidates in Luka Doncic, Victor Wembanyama and favorite Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

In addition to those superstars, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball, Kon Knueppel (the Rookie of the Year favorite), LeBron James, Devin Booker and several other stars will take the floor, making this a great night to bet on some NBA player props.

I made picks for both Doncic and Wembanyama in today’s edition of Peter’s Points (my daily NBA Best Bets column), so I’m looking elsewhere in the prop market for this column.

Edwards headlines Thursday’s picks after he returned from a knee injury on Tuesday, though he’s not the only star offensive player to bet on to have a big game.

Best NBA Prop Bets for Thursday, April 2

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook

Darius Garland OVER 2.5 3-Pointers Made (-121)

Los Angeles Clippers guard Darius Garland has been automatic when it comes to his 3-point prop over the last month.,

Garland has made three or more shots from beyond the arc in 11 of his 12 games since entering the starting lineup for the Clips, and he’s shooting 50.2 percent from 3 (on 7.9 attempts per game) since being moved at the trade deadline.

Garland’s 3-point volume is pretty high, and he should get plenty of looks against a San Antonio Spurs team that is 15th in the NBA in opponent 3s made per game.

As long as oddsmakers are going to set this prop at 2.5, I’ll keep going OVER until Garland falls short.

Kon Knueppel OVER 16.5 Points (-117)

Knueppel is in a little bit of a slump right now, falling short of 17 points in five of his last six games. However, this prop has come down from 19.5 to 16.5 for the Rookie of the Year favorite, so I’m going to buy low against the Phoenix Suns.

This season, the Duke product is averaging 18.8 points per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 43.1 percent from 3, taking a healthy 13.4 shots (and 7.9 3-pointers) per game.

Even with this recent slide, Knueppel still averaged 16.9 points per game in the month of March, and he had 15 points on just 11 shots in his lone matchup with the Suns. I’ll take the OVER on this discounted number on Thursday.

Anthony Edwards OVER 25.5 Points (-120)

Anthony Edwards came off the bench on Tuesday night and played less than half the game against the Dallas Mavericks in a blowout win for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Now, he’s expected to return to the starting lineup on Thursday, which should immediately raise his ceiling as a scorer against a tough Detroit defense.

Edwards missed the Timberwolves’ first game with Detroit, but the star guard is averaging 29.3 points per game this season while shooting an impressive 49.3 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from beyond the arc.

This discounted number is likely due to Edwards’ injury and potential minutes restriction, but he’s been too effective scoring the ball this season for me to fade him here. The Wolves should end up in a close game, which could keep Edwards out there for closer to 30 minutes on Thursday.

Evan Mobley OVER 7.5 Rebounds (-150)

Cleveland Cavaliers big man Evan Mobley failed to clear this rebound prop in his last game against the Los Angeles Lakers, but he has eight or more boards in 11 of his last 15 games, averaging 9.8 rebounds in the month of March.

Mobley is averaging 8.9 rebounds per game this season, and I love Thursday’s matchup for him against the Golden State Warriors.

Golden State just allowed 18 rebounds to Victor Wembanyama on Wednesday, and the Warriors are 23rd in the NBA in rebound percentage this season.

Mobley had 10 rebounds in just over 35 minutes in his first meeting with Golden State in the 2025-26 campaign.
