The Atlanta Hawks remain on fire down the stretch of the NBA regular season, as they knocked off the Boston Celtics on Monday and currently hold the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference.

They’ll take on the slumping Orlando Magic (3-7 in their last 10 games), who are coming off a much-needed win over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. Orlando is the No. 8 seed in the East, but it’s just 2.5 games behind the Hawks in the standings.

So, Wednesday’s game is a massive one for both teams as they attempt to avoid the play-in tournament this season.

Oddsmakers have set the Hawks as 4.5-point road favorites after they beat Orlando by 12 points back on March 16.

Here’s a look at the odds, a player prop to consider and my prediction for Wednesday’s Eastern Conference battle.

Hawks vs. Magic Best NBA Prop Bets

Hawks Best NBA Prop Bet

  • Jalen Johnson to Record a Double-Double (-170)

In today’s best NBA props column, I shared why Johnson should have another big game against Orlando:

Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson had a massive showing against the Orlando Magic in late March, putting up 24 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists to record his 13th triple-double of the 2025-26 season.

Johnson is +466 to record a triple-double on Wednesday, but I’m eyeing him to get a double-double (-170) for the 46th time in 68 games. The star forward is averaging a double-double this season (22.9 points, 10.2 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game).

Now, he takes on an Orlando Magic team that is just 23rd in the league in defensive rating over its last 10 games. Johnson has a double-double in 10 of his 17 games since the All-Star break, averaging 21.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game during that stretch.

Hawks vs. Magic Prediction and Pick

These teams are trending in completely different directions before the playoffs, even though Orlando picked up a win on Tuesday.

The Hawks are sixth in the league in net rating (+9.1) over their last 10 games while Orlando is 23rd (-8.2) after it lost by 52 points to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. The Magic are just 21-28 against teams that are .500 or better this season, making them a tough team to trust in Wednesday’s matchup.

Atlanta has been a solid road team all season long, going 7-6 against the spread as a road favorite and 20-17 straight up on the road. The Hawks are also 3-0 against the Magic this season, winning their last two meetings by double digits.

An easy schedule has propelled the Hawks’ run after the All-Star break, but Orlando hasn’t exactly been a playoff-caliber team for most of the season. I’ll lay the points with the Hawks – who have a rest advantage – on April 1.

Pick: Hawks -4.5 (-110 at DraftKings)
