Both teams enter the series at 3-4, tied for third place in the division behind the 5-2 Astros and 4-2 Rangers.

Mariners vs. Angels Best Prop Bet

On Day 89 of betting $100 every day for a year, I broke down why I'm betting on Cole Young to record at least one hit:

Reid Detmers has proved throughout his career that he can be an extremely solid reliever, but he simply can't cut it as a Major League starter. He has a 4.91 ERA and a 1.373 WHIP across 76 starts, and we're in for more of the same this year as Los Angeles is once again trotting him out as part of the Angels' rotation.

I'm going to take a shot on Cole Young of the Mariners to get at least one hit tonight. He has a wRC+ of 158 through 26 plate appearances, including a batting average of .320. We need him to get just one hit tonight for this bet to cash.

Mariners vs. Angels Prediction and Pick

I can't trust the Angels with Detmers on the mound. He has struggled to find any level of success as a starter, proving to be much more valuable as a reliever. Now, he has to face a Mariners' offense that ranks 13th in wRC+ through the first week of the season. That's going to prove to be a challenge for him tonight.

Meanwhile, Bryan Woo gets the start for the Mariners tonight. He's coming off a performance where he allowed just two earned runs across 6.0 innings in his first start of the year. I expect another solid performance from him tonight.

With the Mariners having such an advantage in the pitching department, I'm going to back Seattle to take care of business in Los Angeles tonight.

Pick: Mariners -162 via FanDuel
