We were long overdue for a sweep of the board, and that's exactly what we got on day 87 of betting $100, going 4-0 with my four picks. The next step is to carry that momentum into the weekend and see if we can string a few more winning nights together.

With no college basketball and limited hockey to bet on tonight, it's about time we have an MLB day. For the first time in this challenge, all of my bets are on today's baseball action, so let's dive into them.

Marlins vs. Yankees Prediction

Pick: $20 on Marlins +150

The Marlins have had arguably the best offense in baseball through the first week of the season, ranking first in OPS and second in wRC+. Will it last? Almost certainly not. Is it worth trying to take advantage of when they're priced as +150 underdogs against a Yankees team that has stumbled out of the gates offensively? Absolutely.

Blue Jays vs. White Sox Prop Bet

Pick: $20 on Dylan Cease 8+ Strikeouts (+112)

Dylan Cease threw a blistering 12 strikeouts in his first start as a Blue Jay. Your likely argument would be "yeah, but that was against the Athletics". What if I told you his second start as a Blue Jay was against the team with the second-highest strikeout rate behind the A's? That's exactly what we have in this spot as the White Sox have struck out on 34% of their at-bats, the second most in the Majors behind the Athletics at 35.2%. Let's bet on Cease putting together another gem this afternoon.

Mariners vs. Angels Prop Bet

Pick: $30 on Cole Young OVER 0.5 Hits (-135)

Reid Detmers has proved throughout his career that he can be an extremely solid reliever, but he simply can't cut it as a Major League starter. He has a 4.91 ERA and a 1.373 WHIP across 76 starts, and we're in for more of the same this year as Los Angeles is once again trotting him out as part of the Angels' rotation.

I'm going to take a shot on Cole Young of the Mariners to get at least one hit tonight. He has a wRC+ of 158 through 26 plate appearances, including a batting average of .320. We need him to get just one hit tonight for this bet to cash.

Astros vs. Athletics Prediction

Pick: $30 on Astros -110

What happened to the Athletics' offense that was supposed to be one of the best in baseball this season? There are some real signs this young lineup is going to regress this season, and things have been ugly to start the season. They have struck out on 35.2% of at-bats, have a batting average of .177, and have a wRC+ of 50, all of which are the worst marks in all of baseball.

Tonight, they're a pick'em against the Astros, who lead all of MLB in wRC+ at 144. Unless I'm missing something, this is the biggest no-brainer bet on the board.
