Mystics vs. Aces Prediction, Odds, Best WNBA Prop Bet for Thursday, Aug. 13

In this story:
A rematch is set for Thursday night in the WNBA, as the Las Vegas Aces host the Washington Mystics for the second time in as many games.
Las Vegas got the best of Washington on Tuesday night, riding a 26-point game from MVP favorite A’ja Wilson to a 10-point win. Washington had a seven-game winning streak snapped with the loss, but it still holds a top-eight spot in the WNBA.
The Mystics’ strong 2026 season has rested on their defense, which ranks No. 2 in the league in defensive rating. Meanwhile, the Aces have a high-powered offense led by Wilson, Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young.
This could be a first-round playoff matchup this postseason, so Thursday’s game will be an interesting test for the Mystics as they prepare themselves for playoff basketball. These teams have split their two meetings so far this season, but the Aces are favored at home in the series decider on Thursday night.
Let’s check out the odds, a player prop to bet and my prediction as these two playoff-caliber teams both look to move up in the standings.

Mystics vs. Aces Best WNBA Prop Bets
Aces Best WNBA Prop Bet
- A’ja Wilson 25+ Points (-136)
Earlier today, I shared in my WNBA Best Bets column – Peter’s Points – why I’m backing Wilson for the second game in a row against Washington:
The MVP favorite once again this season, Wilson is averaging 26.3 points per game while shooting 52.4 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from 3-point range. The Aces star has dominated the Mystics in two meetings this season, scoring 38 and 26 points while shooting a combined 22-for-34 from the field.
Washington is No. 2 in the WNBA in defensive rating this season, but Wilson has proven time and time again that she is matchup-proof.
The three-time champion is averaging 27.6 points per game over her last 14 games, shooting 53.0 percent from the field. During that stretch, she’s scored at least 26 points 10 times and at least 30 points six times.
I expect Wilson to stay hot against this Mystics team that clearly doesn’t have an answer for her.
Mystics vs. Aces Prediction and Pick
These teams combined for 162 points in Tuesday’s meeting, and I wouldn't be shocked if we see another low-scoring game on Thursday night.
The UNDER is 9-6 in the Mystics’ 15 road games, and they have been one of the best teams at hitting the UNDER in the league all season long.
Washington is No. 2 in defensive rating and ranks in the bottom three in the league in both points per game and offensive rating. So, the Mystics would much prefer to play a low-scoring game, which is part of the reason they rank 14th in the league in pace.
Vegas doesn’t push the pace either – ninth in the league – and it has steadily improved defensively this season, ranking sixth in defensive rating and seventh in opponent points per game.
While I like Wilson’s scoring prop, I’m not sold on either offense having a big day on Thursday night.
Pick: UNDER 170.5 (-115 at DraftKings)
