In today's edition of Daily Dinger, I broke down why I'm betting on Corbin Carroll to hit a home run:

Nick Lodolo is another pitcher who has struggled to give up home runs this season. The Reds' pitcher has given up 12 home runs in 14 starts for 1.5 home runs per nine innings pitched. With him being a lefty, we're going to bet on the Diamondbacks' top lefty bat, Corbin Carroll. He has a batting average of .327 and a slugging percentage of .565 when facing left-handed pitchers this season.

The time to bet on the Diamondbacks is when they're facing a left-handed starter. Their offensive numbers skyrocket when facing lefties. For example, their wRC+ this season improves from 89 against right-handed pitchers to 114 against left-handed pitchers.

They'll face a lefty in Nick Lodolo tonight, who has had a less-than-stellar season with a 4.52 ERA. The Diamondbacks have the far better lefty starter Eduardo Rodriguez, and his 2.71 ERA, taking the mound for them.
