Royals vs. Dodgers Prediction, Odds, Probable Pitchers, Prop Bets for Tuesday, Aug. 11

The Los Angeles Dodgers got back to their winning ways on Monday night, beating the struggling Kansas City Royals, 6-5, in their series opener.

Now, the Dodgers have left-hander Blake Snell set to make just his second appearance of the 2026 season after he had surgery to remove loose bodies from his elbow. Snell struggled in his only outing so far this season, but oddsmakers have the Dodgers set as -254 favorites at home in his second outing.

The Royals will counter with right-hander Michael Wacha (3.44 ERA), who has pitched pretty well in 2026 even though the Royals are just 7-16 in his outings.

Kansas City is 22 games under .500 overall, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the Dodgers – who are World Series favorites – are expected to win this game with ease.

Let’s take a look at the odds, a player prop to bet and my prediction for Tuesday’s contest.

Royals vs. Dodgers Best MLB Prop Bets

Dodgers Best MLB Prop Bet

  • Shohei Ohtani OVER 1.5 Total Bases (-114)

Ohtani has been heating up over the last few weeks, hitting .391 with 18 hits over his last 12 games. He’s picked up four doubles and four home runs during that stretch, and the Dodgers star has an OPS of .940 overall in the 2026 season.

Now, he gets a shot at Wacha and a Kansas City bullpen that is 29th in the league in ERA (5.37). Wacha has just a 1.15 WHIP this season, but he’s struggled a little against Ohtani in his career, allowing the Dodgers star to hit .333.

This bet is a tricky one since Ohtani may need multiple hits to get it done, but the Royals have struggled with Wacha on the mound partially because the bullpen has struggled to hold leads.

I think Ohtani is worth a look as he competes for the NL MVP once again this season.

Royals vs. Dodgers Prediction and Pick

Can the Royals cover the run line again? I shared my pick for this game in today’s MLB Best Bets column

The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up a 6-5 win over the Kansas City Royals in their series opener on Monday night, but they’re just 2-8 in their last 10 games and have a terrible record on the run line when favored at home.

L.A. failed to cover the run line on Monday, slipping to 17-37 on the run line in 54 home games as a favorite. The Royals haven’t been great as road underdogs, but they’re still 22-19 on the run line despite being 22 games under .500 for the entire 2026 season.

On Tuesday, the Dodgers will have Blake Snell on the mound for just the second time this season, and it’s possible he won’t work very deep into this matchup. The Dodgers’ bullpen (4.01 ERA) has been pretty average, so the Royals may be able to hang around on Tuesday.

Oddsmakers have set Kansas City at plus money to cover, and I think that’s too valuable of a price with the Dodgers in a little slump.

Michael Wacha (3.44 ERA) has been solid for the Royals, and he’s given up one or fewer earned runs in five of his last eight starts.

The Dodgers will likely win this game, but their inability to cover makes them an easy fade candidate when we’re getting plus money on the opponent’s run line.

Pick: Royals +1.5 (+101 at DraftKings)
