Report: Mayweather-Pacquiao sets boxing gate record

The May 2 fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao generated $72,198,500 from the sale of 16,219 tickets, a new boxing record for ticket revenue, ESPN's Dan Rafael reports.
ESPN's Darren Rovell reports that the $4,451 in average ticket value is also a record.
Mayweather defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision in a bout billed "The Fight of the Century." The fight was expected to be the richest in boxing history.

Days before the fight, tickets were averaging nearly $7,000 on the secondary market.
