During Sunday’s BET Awards, Laila Ali, daughter of the late Muhammad Ali, paid tribute to her father.

After Jamie Foxx reflected on Muhammad Ali’s life, Laila eulogized him.

“My father lived his life with conviction and purpose,” she said. “He is known the world over as the greatest athlete of all time. A man who fearlessly faced opposition both in and out of the ring.”

Laila Ali thanked everyone for the kind words said about her father, and concluded with something he had told her.

“My father also once said, ‘If people loved each other as much as they loved me, it would be a better world.’”
